Top Bass Lakes In The US
America has many great lakes for bass fishing. Most of them are located in the warm southern regions where bass have ample food and great places to hide and hunt. Some of the lakes are located in beautiful parts of the country, but others are not. Here is five of the best bass fishing lakes found in America.Falcon Lake is one of the best bass fishing lakes, but it is not among the most beautiful. This long lake is located right on the US/Mexican border, with half of the lake being in Mexico and the other half in Texas. The lake has some excellent habitat for bass as well as a great population of bait fish and pan fish. Combine these great attributes with reduces fishing pressure due to the Mexican drug war and you have excellent fishing for those brave anglers willing to risk getting shot by Mexican drug runners for the chance to catch big bass. Last year a bass that weighed over 15.5 lbs. was caught and there are many in the 12-13 lb. class.
The TVA project has created some amazing bass fishing. Guntersville's lake is a top bass producer and has been the sight of many fishing contests. Located in north eastern Alabama it stretches for miles. There are miles of great coves and small fingers that provide great habitat for bass. There are plenty of weedy areas with stumps and fallen trees that make for great hunting grounds.
Down the river from Guntersville on the western side of Alabama is Wilson Lake. Wilson is smaller, but still a great sized lake to create wonderful habitat for bass. The weather along northern Alabama is warm enough to make great year-round fishing. Wilson has a lot of coves and structure to give the bass exactly what they need to grow into great trophies. There are good pub lice boat docks so you can put in with ease. There are also very helpful bait shops to provide assistance on what is hot.
Further along the Tennessee River is Kentucky Lake, which is located along the western edge of Kentucky. This is also an amazing bass fishing lake. It is a huge lake, wide and long, that had many different environments to choose from. There is plenty of bait fish as well as small pan fish so they can choose their diet. Kentucky Lake has great places for bass to spawn, which means that populations sustain themselves. There is a great boat ramp and bait shop on the Land between the Lakes on the east side of the lake.
Beautiful Florida is home to Lake Tohopekaliga, also called Lake Toho, or West Lake. This amazing lake is 18, 000 square areas and has some wonderful habitat for bass. In 2001, during a tournament, Dean Rojas, caught a 1 day, 5 fish total of over 45lbs. the lake has great public docks that make fishing very enjoyable. The US has some wonderful places to catch bass, but these five lakes are some of the best. Give them a try and see how many large fish you catch.
